Cotentin

Cotentin is located at the North-West of the country in the department of the English Channel in Basse-Normandie. Bordered in north, the east and the west by the sea, the English Channel not to name it, it forms a peninsula. It is a piece which would have been detached from the Armorican solid mass currently forming Brittany and which following the movements of the Earth's crust and the work of the sea would have moved away. The highest area is at the North-West towards the point of La Hague to the Nose of Jobourg which overhangs to 184 Mr.
Cherbourg-Octeville, sea in the middle of the city

The quality of the life in Cherbourg-Octeville can be appreciated while walking on the marina Chantereyne, in the parks and gardens, in the restored districts or along the quays equipped with lights by Yann Kersalé.Thanks to a palette comprising 4,096 nuances, the project “Moored” varies the luminous environment between the blue of the full sea and green of the low tide. Cherbourg-Octeville can also be discovered while being let guide by the terminals of its paths of walk, of its historical ways or to lead by guides professional lecturers. End of the 19th century until the crisis of 1929, the thousands of emigrants from all Europe left to seek Outre-Atlantique refuge. The Transatlantic Station testifies to this epopee. Cherbourg is today a marina of international level which accommodates the greatest nautical demonstrations (Race of the Barber, World Challenge Assistance, Cutty Sark…), a town of art with its theater with Italian, its museums of art and history, its Holy Trinity basilica, the Saint Martin's day church, the Castle of Ravalet and the City of the Sea.
